I understand that considering the material used in the making of the deities and also the guidelines of a particular temple with regard to bathing the deities, that some deities may not get bathed.
i was wondering if there was a way to create a general standard which would take into consideration all the materials used in making deity and find a cleansing solution that can be used universally? It might sound silly but when we were reviewing these details I kept imagining that I was standing next to two deities, one that I could give a refreshing light wash to and the other not. I felt a little embarrassed to be standing in front of the deities and to offer this service to one deity only??!
