Tulsi Puja is done standing and we normally do the acamana standing. This goes against the recommendation of doing acamana sitting. Any thoughts on this?
I think that we do Acamana doing all protocols before doing Tulsi Puja.. at least thats how I have been doing it. For example acamana is done before waking deities and thats behind the altar and then we go out to Temple Room for other services including Tulsi puja.
Please let me know if this is acceptable or not?
Hare Krishna
That sounds like a practical approach. If acamana is properly performed before waking the Deities and cleanliness is maintained, it makes sense to continue with the other services, including Tulasi-puja, without unnecessarily repeating it. Hare Krishna!
That is a good practical question. My understanding is that acamana should ideally be performed sitting or kneeling first, and then we can stand to perform Tulasi-puja. It would be helpful to know whether standing acamana is acceptable specifically during Tulasi worship.
