Hare Krishna, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
My most beloved Deities are Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, who are worshipped at ISKCON Zagreb Mandir in Croatia.
The chota Deities were installed by the chanting of the Holy Names during the Gaura Purnima festival on March 15, 1987.
The larger Deities were installed in a formal Deity installation ceremony on Saturday, May 7, 1994., the day after Varuthini Ekadashi, in the presence of Šri Visnupada and Šri Rohini Suta Prabhu.
These wooden Deities were carved in Ekacakra, India, the sacred birthplace of Lord Nityananda.
Over the years, many pastimes have been connected with Them. One that I remember is that during an hot summer, perspiration appeared under Their arms. Sometimes They appear to become a little fuller, and an outfit that fit perfectly suddenly cannot be dressed on Them. At other times, They seem slimmer, and perfectly tailored kopin becomes loose and moves around. Such moments remind Their servants that the Lord is never an ordinary statue but the Spreme Person who reciprocates with His devoties.
They are so merciful and very quickly capture the heart of anyone who sincerely serves Them. Serving Them is one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Your servant,
Dinadayadri Devi Dasi
